A medium-roast blend first made more than 100 years ago for family occasions, a bolder dark roast, and K‑Cup pods of the same Traditional blend. Cans run from 25.3 oz to 48 oz.
Pick your strength
Pick Traditional Roast for a medium cup, deep and rich (1½ of 3 beans on the can), and Dark Roast Bold for a strong, robust cup with a smooth finish (3 of 3 beans). Both are ground for drip, French press and pour-over.
Deep, rich and full-bodied, from a blend of beans from Latin America and other tropical regions.

Straight from the can
The brewing chart on the Traditional Roast can is simple: 1 tablespoon of ground coffee for each serving of 6 fl oz (3/4 cup) of water, or 1/2 cup (8 tablespoons) for a 10-serving pot. Fresh, cold water goes in the reservoir.

Right now the 27.9 oz canister of Yuban Traditional Roast Ground Coffee works out to 50¢ an ounce, and the 48 oz Club Pack canister to 90¢. A bigger can is not always the better buy.

The brand
Yuban has been a coffee name in America for more than a century. Arbuckle Brothers of New York filed the YUBAN trademark in November 1913, the U.S. trademark office registered it in April 1914, and the register shows it renewed seven times since, most recently in 2024.
On the shelf today the Yuban lineup means three things: Traditional Roast Ground Coffee, the medium blend in cans from 27.9 to 48 oz, Dark Roast Bold Ground Coffee, the darker cousin in a 25.3 oz can, and Traditional Roast again in K‑Cup pods. The cans say the beans come from Latin America and other tropical regions, and that the coffee has been roasted in California since 1950.
Reviewers call Yuban smooth and not acidic, a family coffee, and plenty of them buy it online because a local store stopped carrying it. It is not a specialty roaster's coffee: there is no whole bean, no single origin and, in this catalog, no decaf. It is a dependable pot of medium or dark coffee from a can that reseals.
Yuban is a brand of ground coffee and K-Cup coffee pods, sold on Amazon, known for its Dark Roast Bold Ground Coffee.

Good to know
The K‑Cup pods are: their box reads 100% Arabica coffee. The ground cans, like Yuban Traditional Roast Ground Coffee, are a blend of Robusta and Arabica beans from Latin America and other tropical regions.
In California. The cans say Yuban has been expertly roasted there since 1950.
